Afterlife Research, Jesus
Love is a many-splendored thing.
It’s the April rose that only grows in the early spring.
Love is nature’s way of giving a reason to be living
The golden crown that makes a man a king!
Once, on a high and windy hill,
In the morning mist, two lovers kissed,
And the world stood still.
Then your fingers touched my silent heart
And taught it how to sing;
Yes, true love’s a many-splendored thing!

My dear weekly friends, this feels as if it will be a more personal blog post than I usually write. Of course, everyone who writes a blog is, by definition, writing personally. That is kind of the point of writing a blog, is it not? But for the past thirteen years, I have used these weekly musings as a place to figure out and make sense of the whole very essence of reality. I have written very little here about myself, except to the extent, perhaps, that my strong personal opinions about the reality that I have been discovering have crept into my musings, here and there. If you have read much of what I have been writing, then you know that my frank astonishment at the self-imposed and patently ridiculous limitations carried by the entire mainstream scientific community that are a century old now, and still continue to limit scientists’ investigations to this day, are boundless.Do all these strictly self-limited scientists even consider themselves to be full-grown adults? And where mainstream Christianity is concerned, why have more people who truly love Jesus not done what I have done, and for the Lord’s own sake, and gone back to consider what existed before Constantine’s Romans had their brutal Nicaean way with what was Jesus’s gentle and love-based original spiritual Way and teachings? Why has no one else ever thought to ask the Lord, in the whole past seventeen hundred years, which sort of spiritual movement He might personally prefer?
This whole long habit of mine of thinking in public really began by happenstance, and it started just thirteen years ago. Friends of mine and I were at that point just beginning to give and attend those old afterlife conferences, where one day someone suggested to me that I ought to start a podcast. I recall saying to him, “What’s a podcast?” I had no clue! But I thought, What the heck. This fellow had a little podcasting company, and when he asked me to give my new podcast that I was starting with him a name, I recall that the name “Seek Reality” came immediately into my mind, from nowhere. Well, good enough! My first guests were my friends in the field of afterlife research, but soon I was hearing from agents for experts and speakers of various sorts, so then I was in business. By rough count, we have done about 650 weekly episodes of “Seek Reality with Roberta Grimes” by now, the most recent few years of which are video as well as audio. My wonderful engineer buddy, Sam, and I enjoy our long weekly collaboration so much that we likely will continue to podcast for as long as we both reasonably can.
So, for more than thirteen years now, we have been on the air each week, and usually with spiritual-seeker guests. Right away, back then, my young-adult children thought that a brand-new podcaster needed a better website, and my new website had a link for a “Blog”, whatever that was, which was how these weekly missives to you began. And, what does a new weekly blogger write about? Well, my longstanding casual hobby had been trying to understand ever more fully what happens when we die. There was then, and there still is now, a small group of people worldwide who, like me, had been studying what is a great body of very consistent communications from the dead that had been received in the late nineteenth and the early part of the twentieth century. I was then long into a career that I still love as a counselor to owners of closely-held businesses; but since I had reduced my client list by the end of the first decade of this new century, I was turning what had been a casual hobby as a student of the afterlife into a more serious pursuit. And it was only first then occurring to me that “Seek Reality” as a podcast title probably ought be taken by Yours Truly as less like a title, and more like a command.
The feckless and utterly absurd decision that was made by the mainstream scientific elite soon after the turn of the twentieth century, that science would henceforth be the study of matter exclusively, was likely a part of the command that I was feeling to start probing reality more deeply now. After all, somebody ought to do it! If mainstream science was no longer going to even bother to be open-minded enough to try to understand this reality in which we live, for heaven’s sake, then certainly, somebody ought to be trying to do it! Then too, I am a lifelong Gospels scholar, and I had concluded by then, based upon overwhelming evidence, that (a) Jesus was and remains a genuine Being, whose life’s details as they are reported in the Gospels are substantially genuine, and they are beyond amazing; and (b) the historical record frankly reveals that the religion called Christian that was begun by the Roman Emperor Constantine in the year 325 CE is not at all a continuation of The Way of Jesus, which He taught to His followers, and which they then eagerly practiced for the three hundred years following Jesus’s death, resurrection, and ascension. Facts are stubborn things, my very dear ones! And somewhere in the broad, literal facts about reality that mainstream science still refuses to objectively study, and that Christianity also refuses to study, from what should have been the Lord’s Own perspective, I could see that there were facts about humankind and about the reality that we inhabit, both here and in eternity, that I possessed enough knowledge about to realize that somebody ought to be studying, and with a considerable degree of seriousness! I possessed both the means and the interest, and I also had many of those facts already; but still, it seemed like an impossible task for someone with no scientific training at all to undertake this mission. I looked at this seemingly impossible task, this notion that any one person might ever be able to figure out all of reality, and I said helplessly to my spirit guide, my dearly beloved Thomas, “Why me?” Thomas just said right back to me what he always says, whenever I have tried to ask him that question: “Why not you?”
Much more to the point, my beloveds, we have our Lord’s challenge, and His great, eternal promise. Two thousand years ago, Jesus said to each of us, in His great love and in His eternal, personal care for every one of us, 7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks, receives; the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened (MT 7:7-8). He also promised every one of us, eternally, “You shall know the truth, and the truth will make you free” (JN 8:32).
We shall indeed know the truth, at last. And the truth will make us free from fear, because we are, in literal truth, each one of us, all eternal Beings! I have known that for certain since I was in my twenties because I had seen enough evidence by then that the truth was already proven to me. Now, late in my life, I was realizing that the voice suggesting my podcast’s name to me had been divine. What I was being asked to do now was no more and no less than to give eternally living efficacy to Jesus’s promise to everyone on earth who loves and trusts Him, if I could. I was to find and to do whatever might be my own little part to do, and help the Lord to keep that ancient promise, and eradicate the fear of death from the world. Because, incredibly, even now, most people I ask whether they are comfortable about the next stage of their eternal life, will only say that they “believe” there is an afterlife. They “believe”?? Well, I’m sorry to say this, but people also believed in Santa Clause and the tooth fairy. People will believe in anything! So… it begins to feel as if it really is my personal task, assigned by Jesus, for me to start to actually Seek Reality. For real.
And in point of fact, figuring out and nailing down every proven, eternal and incontrovertible fact at this point has been so amazingly simple! I think I said this here recently, maybe just a few weeks ago; but I figured it all out in these weekly posts, and no harm is done if we go through all that evidence again:
Jesus’s Teachings Pull Everything Together. When you are trying to make some fundamental discovery, it is best if you have at least a couple of primary resources for it that are not related to one another, but that can validate one another. Resources that can, in essence, support one another; that can rhyme. So, as I was working with multiple sources of information about consciousness, I was sure that I had seen something that felt very like it, somewhere before. But, where? And then I realized that, hey, hadn’t Jesus been working with consciousness, even way back then, come to think of it? When I went back and looked again at what Jesus had taught, I was astonished to realize that His teachings really had worked directly with the same consciousness vibrations that we all come to earth to raise in ourselves! This truly was so remarkable as to feel almost unbelievable. Jesus was a twenty-first-century man who had lived on earth in the first century CE. And now, I was making sense of everything!
To test my whole theory of reality, I began to offer classes in raising people’s spiritual vibrations, using just Jesus’s teachings, and precisely as He had taught them. As predicted, those classes worked amazingly well. Thomas assured me that I could confidently tell my students, and even the very oldest ones, that even after two or three years of following Jesus’s Way, they were going to be at about the top of the Summerland, my dear ones. They would be at the point where they would be unlikely to need to come back to the earth for more learning; although, perhaps they would want to come back to help others by teaching. That was how wonderfully they had already progressed spiritually! And we are working on an AI website now that will teach these truths, and these spiritual habits. Even in multiple languages! I an confident that the surprising truths that this website will teach are wonderfully, absolutely right. The whole truth about reality really is this purely love-based, this entirely joy-filled, this astonishingly intimate. And even whenever all the mainstream scientists on earth, with all their thousand, million numbers on whiteboards, finally do figure it all out; when all the grave-faced Catholic Cardinals on earth at last meet the real Jesus, as I have met and know Him; when all those genuine experts will, in the end, all find the same simple and amazingly love-based reality behind it all that our new website, now under construction, is about to teach to the world, I am certain that what our website is about to teach is the greater reality that they will find. But still, I am flabbergasted to realize that I am its chosen teacher! Why me, Thomas? This time, his answer is, “Because you love all His precious children more than they love them.”
